"Face the Good" by Susan Pearl

I love you, I love you-

I don't see things like some others do.

You don't have to be the best in your class -

for the sun to shine on you, too.

I love you, I love you.

I takes a kind and gentle soul to know-

and to understand which way to go.

for there have been years---not just a few,

When things were not right and true-

and now it is up to us to face the good that should be for everyone

not just for some.

I think that day has come.

I love you.  I love you.

"The Verdict" by Susan Pearl

It was a fast paced chase-

It was a race-

For a glimpse or a trace-

A one chance glance

Of what needs to be in place

for no one to ever have to face-

The shockingly terrifying acts of a heart of stone.

We all can see and it is clear -in full view

what a heart of stone can do.

We will not be bullied or give in to peer pressure-

where ever we are-

Things have to be sorted out,

And give credit where credit is due

for the sincere hearted doing what is right and true-

But for the stone hearted that are in place-

we all have some corrective chiseling to do.

We all are created equal and we should see

others as fellow human beings deserving of respect and dignity.

When something crosses the line,  when something is overdone,

when something is downright cruel and wrong-

We know a heart of stone that is incapable to resonate with a human connection-

That such a heart of stone needs to be chiseled away in the form of correction.

"Unexpected Answer" by Susan Pearl

In an attempt to make conversation with an elderly lady-

I thought I had the perfect "ice breaker"-

So I asked, "How long were you and your husband married?"

She answered, "Fifty-five years."

I said, "Oh, how wonderful."

She looked into my eyes and said as firmly and forcefully as she could,-

   "It wasn't a happy marriage."

I changed the subject to talk about something else as I thought-

"Whoa, time to move on."

She was blunt, truthful and factual-

and she thought nothing of it--but I sure thought the ice breaker was inappropriate-

and I learned a lesson that --it is best to talk about the weather for an ice breaker.

"Decisions, Decisions and More Decisions" by Susan Pearl

When I was growing up I was taught-

"Charity begins at home and we should not ever neglect our own".

It was a drawn line to daily see-

That would keep us from entering being hypocritical.

I was, also, told -"Don't do for others what they can do for themselves".

Otherwise, we would be a false teacher in their lives.

So it is interesting to firmly hold those instructions and to make decisions accordingly-

Because we do not want to be false teachers or enter into a hypocritical lifestyle.

All we can do is to make one decision at a time with the latest current information and facts.

When that information and facts change we must keep up with it with our decision making.

It is a process of life that is in motion for the good of all and living a responsible life.

We are not changing our mind if our decisions change,

It is applying our decisions to the new facts and keeping our principles that we uphold

to be guidelines.

Guidelines we choose to live by to keep us from being false teachers or live a life of hypocritical

actions.

Decisions even though they may change can be a strong and steady safeguard for ourselves and for others.

"Adding on to a Phrase" by Susan Pearl

I  have heard many, many times "Live and learn",

I have even said it myself on several different occasions.

One of those occasions has been when I found out that another person

wasn't who I thought they were.

So now I am thinking the saying should be added on to--- "live and learn" --and

then by applying what you learn----

you will "LEARN to LIVE FROM WHAT YOU LEARN".

"Living a life of applied knowledge" makes us "wise".

"Hope's in Motion" by Susan Pearl

Hope's in motion for better ways to find.

Hope's in motion, keeping step with time.

When misdeeds are ongoingly done,

Ongoingly they come then ongoingly they are gone-

Only to continue on and on--until a time will show us to know what to do.

Repeating the past is like being locked in a picture frame of time,

But hope is in motion for better ways to find.

And breaking an ongoing cycle of misdeeds is certainly a better way-

Hope and time moves us on towards this change that makes a brand new day.

"Not Easier to See" by Susan Pearl

Our dog is having serious aging difficulty,

Just because we know it is inevitable-

Just because we know it is bound to come,

And what will be will be-

Doesn't make it easier to see.

And have a heavier heart and restless sleep,

But to have in our forethought that-

all of the good memories of all the good times-

are what what we are going to be given to keep.

"We Just Don't Know" by Susan Pearl

Like a message in a bottle-

Cast forth into the mighty sea.

A message on its way

to you and to me.

Only being snagged in debris

can stop it from reaching a shore.

Which way will it go?

That's just it----

We just don't know.

The sooner we recognize that fact-

the better our life will be.

Maybe that is the real message

we are suppose to see.

"Two Words" by Susan Pearl

Over thirty years ago I received a card from my brother.  He signed the card with two words above his name.  Those two words were "Stay Strong".  I have remembered that card this last week more than ever before.

Two words "Stay Strong" remembered over thirty years later.   These two words were very simple, very thoughtful, very wise.... and I have carried them with me all this time.

My brother passed away eleven years ago.  The "Stay Strong" has "stayed" with me far beyond what a person would think might be.

I know that these two words have lasted because they "stay" true--

and so today-

I say to you- "Stay Strong".

Hope these two words, "Stay Strong"-

"stay" with you as you carry on.
