The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
What is it that happens to us when we think that other things are better than what we have? What puts such thoughts in our mind? We are all drawn towards happiness and maybe we think that it would bring us happiness to have the other things because we know that inside we aren't really happy with what we have. What do we expect out of life? Could we have unrealistic expectations? Can we expect to have the harvest of the other things if we are unwilling to do the work for them? So many questions and no definitive answers.
I remember one lady saying, " The problem is that people want what we have but my husband and I worked over thirty years to have what we have".
Who drives the snazziest car? There's something about our maturity and our value system that shows what is impressive to us and does it have to keep being bigger and better. Some of the things I thought was so great when I was young I wouldn't walk across the street to see them today.
This is all a process we go through to find out what we want to work for and to know our own self worth and self esteem comes from within. We become satisfied with what we have and who we are and realize our value doesn't come from things.
Some people can spend their entire lives chasing the illusive butterfly. Why? The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
