Pearls Take Time: "Missing the Boat" by Susan Pearl

I asked my good friend-
Has your ship come in?
"Why, yes", my friend said-
"My ship did come in-
but, sorry to say-
I was at the airport".

Susan Pearl: I am retired and live in North Central Kansas. At a very young age, I started creative writing. By the time I was a junior in High School, I wrote the junior class play. The play was a huge success. The next day my English teacher told me of all the students she ever taught that I had a definite talent for writing. She told me that no matter whatever I did in life to continue writing, and she believed I would someday be a successful and published author. I have carried that conversation with my English teacher all of my life, and I have written throughout the years. Along with carrying this conversation there has been an ongoing accompaniment of carrying the hopes and dreams of an aspiring writer. Even though it has been forty-five years since that conversation, the hopes and dreams continue in a new and exciting way by having this blog.
