Needing direction or warning of hazard in the darkness of night
is different, yet, the same as needing direction or warning of hazard in the thick fog of day.
I remember visiting with a lady and she told it was difficult living close to a lighthouse
because of the loud horn sounding. She shuttered when she remembered the loudness of the fog horn.
I hadn't ever thought of the sound aspect of a lighthouse. I had only thought of the light aspect of lighthouse in the darkness of night.
Fog can be so thick and dense that light has difficulty penetrating through it. But sound can warn through fog without hindrance.
Some people can acclimate to the blaring fog horn of the lighthouse and to the degree that it doesn't bother them. Others use ear plugs and headphones to keep the harsh loud sound at a minimum level.
Let us "REMAIN" mindfully aware of our surroundings and know that through faith, hope and love that ways upon ways are available bringing assistance during times of needing direction in life. Such direction can reach us in the darkness of night or in the dense fog of the day. As we "Remain" aware we will find through faith, hope and love what is not only better for us but will, also, be for the good of all.
