In my opinion there has to be a "peace" within us that is our "internal" center support and souce of strength of what we believe is true,
This internal peace has to be in place before we can have an external peace in our lives that will not collapse under the pressure of what we have to go through.

When there is an uphill road,
It is time to lighten the load,
To carry with us the heartaches of the past will make it a harder grade to climb,
Weighing us down more than we may ever know and making us tired in time,
And what good would it do for us to climb to a brand new view,
Only to carry into it the painful times we knew and we still see them, too.

Apr.20- "An Underlying Grief " By Susan Pearl

I have heard that self pity is an unhealthy form of grief,
I have, also, been told that bitterness is misguided grief,
There is a lot more to grief than a person may realize,
It is important to share our feelings and to cry about loss,
This is healthy and does give relief from grief,
Maybe if we find ourselves to be feeling sorry for ourself,
Or if we feel bitterness towards life or towards others,
It may be best to consider working our way through the underlying grief,
If we grieve the past and what had to be,
And grieve about the future and what was to be,
Chances are "today" will be filled with self pity,
Like a ship stuck in a barrier reef,
So, too, we can be held in place by an underlying grief.

Tomorrow hasn't come,
Yesterday is done,
Today's time is what we've got,
And this should be a daily thought.

One half of growing older is good ol' common sense,
The other half is - if it hurts, don't do it.

I don't know why one garden spot is hailed out and another garden spot is not,
I don't know why that on any given day everything can be taken away,
I know that's the way it works and I know it hurts,
I see the faces of people whom these things have happened to,
I see them wondering what they are going to do,
And I do know for sure it could have just as easily been me,
But I don't know why one garden spot is hailed out and another garden spot is not,
Or why that on any given day everything can be taken away.

For my 400th blog post,
I purpose a toast!

Let brass goblets clink,
While merriment winks,
A snapshot of time is made with indelible ink,
A captured moment as life's camera blinks.

Cheers are raised,
For more happy days,
And within us a gladness stays,
As we go our separate ways.

Then through it all,
We shall recall,
Moments that shine in our mind,
Reflecting back to us a flash in time.

And when these bright, shiny moments of our mind's eye appear,
We will remember the words and picture the moment we held dear ,
"Good Cheer" and "Here, Here",
"And Goodwill To People Everywhere".
